Let’s try something a little bit different this year: a short post at the end of each day to cover… well, anything really. Traditional bloggy goodness, I guess.
It’s the opening day of ff2009 for me, and the first noseypeek around the latest rendition of The Garden – and I have to say, it’s utterly ace. It feels much bigger, the layout makes the area feel much more open and inviting and even a little bit villagey, and the atmosphere (early on) was great… later on though, when the pissed people started packing The Garden out, it was decidedly less fun. Bands in the rotunda (most nights at 6pm) are a great new attraction, with plenty of seating and grass for comfy seating. We’ll see how that looks in three weeks, though. Lots of new food options, too, with all the old regulars making a return… hooray for Combi Coffee, and the Paris Creek bicycle-blender is interesting – the first time.
Four shows to kick off the year:
- Sherlock Holmes & the Saline Solution
- There.
- Gothic Punch & Judy
- Sharon Mahoney
Posts about the individual shows are coming…
